Our buddy Dave Owens is back, and we talk about the upcoming New England RPM Meet (http://nerpm.org/index.html) coming June 16 & 17th in Springfield, MA. NERPM has always been a great event and it seems like it’s getting better and better all the time. With 21 meets under their belt, the NERPM crew really has it down, but they never rest on their laurels. Consult the website for booking information and a clinic list. Even some guy named “Mike Rose” is going to be there for the first time since 2019, and the plan is to do a “before and after” kind of clinic using slides from the previous presentation juxtaposed with the current layout status. The slate of clinics looks excellent you can review them on the website also.
Dave and I talk about the history of the meet and why we go to meets in general, but the conversation ranges from there to railfanning, modeling, and his participation with the Amherst Railway Society. One of the services they are now providing is helping to properly handle model railroads whose owners are deceased, an important thing to plan for. But trust me, it’s not doom and gloom, a pleasant time was had by all!
